HS Code Analysis
HS Code analysis involves the precise identification of potential customers by analyzing import and/or export data of countries that share customs information, based on specific HS codes.
What is an HS Code?
An HS Code stands for Harmonized System Code and is used as a shortened term for the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System. Under the leadership of the World Customs Organization, every product involved in international trade is assigned a specific HS code following certain rules and systematic classification. In our country, each product is defined with a 12-digit code system specified in the HS Customs Tariff Schedule prepared by the Ministry of Customs and Trade. Similarly, all exports worldwide are subject to a GTIP code defined specifically for each product.
The first 6 digits of this code represent the Harmonized System (HS) code used by all countries that are members of the World Customs Organization. The 7th and 8th digits represent the Combined Nomenclature (CN) code used by European Union countries. The 9th and 10th digits represent codes for specific positions due to different tax applications, and the 11th and 12th digits are used for statistical codes.
Analysis Stages
During HS Code analysis, specific stages are followed, and the client company is informed through weekly meetings.
The HS codes used by the client in their past exports are obtained through the Client Introduction Form. Additionally, during the service, alternative HS codes will also be analyzed. If the client company has not exported in the past, the HS code identification for the products covered by the service will be carried out by the intelligence experts of Again Data.
Gtip Analysis is initiated based on the product priority ranking of the client company. Importers and imports carried out worldwide with the relevant HS code are identified. The suitability of the identified importing companies as potential buyers for the client company is individually checked by an intelligence expert.
Importing companies that have been individually evaluated and considered as potential customers are reported to the client company. Upon the request of the client company, Again Data establishes initial contact with the importing companies and provides price quotations.
